Brogdon is the 57th different opponent Coughlin has faced. By the way, Brogdon's races and starts in the first-round notes include his Pro Stock Truck career.

Coughlin grabbed a hundredths of a second edge at the green, steadily opened the gap to win by about 10 feet.

Line holds an 11-7 record against Stanfield, 7-5 in the second round.

Almost identical, very good lights for both drivers, but Line had the power to pull away to win by over a car length, Stanfield slowing on the top end.

Anderson holds a 19-13 edge against WJ, 7-5 in second round matches. But they will have to wait a bit to find out who wins this one, starter Rick Stewart shutting them off as (hopefully) brief sprinkles move through the area.

Weather conditions: air temperature 72 degrees, relative humidity 56 percent, barometer 29.14 inches, adjusted altitude 2,421 feet, track temperature 83 degrees.

5:25 p.m. Now everybody is scrambling for cover, must be raining harder.

5:39 p.m. Now it's not raining and a couple laps with the jet dried things out, so we're back to racing again.

Anderson was away first, with a big advantage, and won going away. He tied Coughlin on ET, will have lane choice in the semifinals based on speed.

Edwards has an 11-5 record against AJ in prior events, 4-2 in second-round matches.

Edwards was away first and also won going away, by about a car length. And he also ties his semifinals opponent's ET, also losing lane choice, to Line, on speed. That's just plain wierd!
