COMMERCE, Ga. - Results of round 1 eliminations in Competition Eliminator at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 29th annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals:

1:56 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 75 degrees, relative humidity 25 percent, barometer 29.40 inches, adjusted altitude 2,031 feet, track temperature 107 degrees.
This round was supposed to be before the Pro session, but fog and a couple of oildowns put us behind schedule.

Steve Ambrose wins on a red light.

Connolly goes red and Saye gets an unexpectedly easy first round

Anthony Bertozzi's MOV: 0.0385 seconds (approximately 10 feet), but he paid a high price for the win light, a -.14 event CIC and a permanent 0.04 index adjustment. Browell took a permanent 0.,01 index hit in a losing cause.

Alexander was very early and martel didn't have to pay a penalty to get his win light.

So far we've had three red lights and two indexes were sacrificed in the only green-light race.

Make that four red lights. Stanfield may not have seen the win light, ran very close to the magic -.500 number.
