COMMERCE, Ga. - Andy Kelley will race at the NHRA Summit Southern Nationals in Commerce, Ga., thanks to a one-race sponsorship from Atlanta-based Serenity Limousine Service.

Serenity Limousine, a luxury transportation company, owned by former NHRA Top Fuel racer and current Hedman Husler Hedders general manager and director of motorsports Chris Vandergriff, plans to take advantage of the big stage to promote his thriving limousine business.

Kelley's J. Ed Horton-fabricated Dodge Stratus Funny Car will be wrapped in a special edition Serenity Limo and Hedman Husler theme for the event.

"It's prom season right now, and I feel it's the perfect time to get our name out there in the Georgia marketplace," Vandergriff said. "I've always been a fan of the underdog and with Andy's success on the IHRA tour, I think given the right opportunity this team can deliver. That's what we're banking on. Growing up in an NHRA atmosphere all of my life, I know the value an NHRA program brings to the table. With the attendance being at the high level it is year after year and with the television package, it was a no-brainer for us on where to spend our marketing dollars."

Kelley, 36, of Piedmont, S.C., has competed in NHRA Full Throttle Series events in the past. Last year Kelley was a regular on the IHRA tour finishing second in the IHRA points on the strength of two national event victories in three consecutive final round appearances.

The NHRA Summit Southern Nationals represents a home race for Kelley, his crew chief/father Pat Kelley and tuner Richard Hartman. The team is based 45 miles from Atlanta Dragway.

"This is a great opportunity for our team to race in front of the hometown fans," Kelley said. We know there are a lot of competitive regular tour teams out there and I'm confident we'll be able to mix it up and hold our own for the weekend."
