CHANDLER, Ariz. - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 25th annual Lucas Oil Slick Mist NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Jim Yates Runs 16.824/66.15, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.652/207.72, Was #9
Right Lane: Gordie Rivera Runs 6.721/204.94, Now #13; No Prior Run

Weather conditions: air temperature 72 degrees, relative humidity 28 percent, barometer 28.87 inches, adjusted altitude 2,481 feet, track temperature 99 degrees.

Yates with violent tire shake and shuts it off. Rivera has been fighting some new car gremlins...apparently got it figured out to where he can make a full pass.

Jones with a great looking pass, his quickest of the weekend. He goes into the top half of the show. Rickie Jones' incremental times: 60ft-0.987 sec., 330ft-2.777, 660ft-4.271/164.53 mph, 1,000ft-5.558. No help here for Johnson, but still has the big top end speed.

Hammonds with problems and slowed...Gray had a lot of engine smoke trailing him across the finish line.

Stanfield with problems after the burnout and shuts it off. Krisher with problems early in the run.
