Wed, 4 Feb 2009, 06:54 PM Rocky Boots Signs on as NHRA/Kalitta Motorsports Team Celebrates its 50th Year

NELSONVILLE, Ohio -- Additionally, ROCKY will serve as primary sponsor of the Doug Kalitta-driven Top Fuel dragster at the Norwalk, Ohio race held June 25th to 28th at Summit Motorsports Park. This sponsorship will mean a new paint scheme for the race car, which prominently features the ROCKY logo, as well as earning it the name "ROCKY Boots Top Fuel Dragster" for the entire event and activities around it.

ROCKY announced today that it has signed on as associate sponsor of the NHRA Top Fuel dragster driven by 30-time NHRA national event winner Doug Kalitta, as well as footwear sponsorship of the entire Kalitta Motorsports team.

"These guys basically have overhauling a vehicle race after race down to an amazingly speedy science" said Doug Kamerer, Marketing and Product Line manager for ROCKY Work about Team Kalitta. He added, "Not only does the team demonstrate ROCKY's motto 'Work smarter not harder,' the fans along the track pretty much exemplify ROCKY customers."

Team owner and drag racing legend Connie "the Bounty Hunter" Kalitta added, "We're excited about this partnership because everyone knows ROCKY makes great work and hunting boots and we want only the best for our team!"

Celebrating Connie's 50 years in drag racing, Team Kalitta will be sporting a commemorative car design on Doug's dragster and will hold other promotional events to honor the anniversary throughout the season.
