Left Lane: Gordie Rivera Runs 6.793/204.01, Now #19; Best prior run: 7.832/130.73, Was #20
Right Lane: Bob Panella Runs 6.747/205.54, Now #18; Best prior run: 6.731/205.69, Was #18

1:43 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 81 degrees, relative humidity 27 percent, barometer 28.86 inches, adjusted altitude 3,060 feet, track temperature 101 degrees.

V. Gaines is on the bump spot at 6.705.

We will be qualifying twelve cars today. The bike qualifying session was less than stellar!

No joy, as both cars slow.

Left Lane: Richie Stevens Runs 6.711/205.88, Now #16; Best prior run: 7.269/164.11, Was #20

Ben Watson was supposed to be in the right lane and decides to sit this session out. A little spin off the line and it costs him a little. Two more chances tomorrow to get off the bump.

Left Lane: Rickie Jones Runs 6.719/205.51, Now #17; Best prior run: 6.727/205.22, Was #17
Right Lane: Vinnie Deceglie Runs 6.705/206.73, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.709/206.73, Was #15

Deceglie finds enough HP to qualify for now. Jones improves a little and will stay #17.

Left Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 13.519/66.17, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.708/207.69, Was #15
Right Lane: Greg Stanfield Runs 6.708/206.76, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.707/206.13, Was #14

Lots of spin and darting around for Johnson and he clicks it off. Stanfield gets to the finish line and is 0.001 slower than yesterday.

Left Lane: V. Gaines Runs 6.676/206.42, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.705/206.48, Was #13
Right Lane: Johnny Gray Runs 6.745/206.04, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.704/206.01, Was #11

Gaines started the session on the bump and has a nice 0.996 sixty-foot time to move well up the ladder into the top half of the field. Gray slows a little.

Left Lane: Jim Yates Runs 6.702/206.45, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.697/206.70, Was #11
Right Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 9.688/109.01, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.694/206.29, Was #10

Both of these two are still in the show and Johnny Gray is on the bump spot at 6.704. Morgan is all over the track at the green and has to click it off. Yates is just a tad slower than yesterday.

Left Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 10.577/85.89, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.678/206.95, Was #9
Right Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 6.680/207.75, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.675/207.30, Was #5

Coughlin is not in the top half of the field yet and will not improve as the car makes a hard move towards the guard rail about 60 feet out. Anderson slows about 0.005.

Left Lane: Mike Edwards Runs 6.664/207.43, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.677/207.18, Was #8
Right Lane: Ron Krisher Runs 6.668/207.18, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.674/206.76, Was #4

Both cars improve in the tough conditions. Edwards to #3 and Krisher stays #4.

Left Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 6.691/206.26, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.675/207.27, Was #7
Right Lane: Jason Line Runs 6.658/208.39, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.664/208.04, Was #2

New #1 in the Club House!! Line show 'em how with a great looking pass and the fastest run of the race.. Johnson had a better 60-ft. time, but slows a little from yesterday.

Left Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 6.686/207.24, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.670/207.34, Was #5
Right Lane: Dave Connolly Runs 6.671/207.34, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.660/207.75, Was #2

Line's run looks even better, as these two hitters slow a little bit.

2:03 p.m. Jason Line is the new #1 qualifier at 6.628 and Johnny Gray is on the bump spot at 6.704.
