Smith makes a great pass but smoke starts pouring from the engine just as he goes through the lights.

Bohl gets off the line first and starts to pull away. He starts drifting to the left, gets out of the groove, then Payne pulls around. Payne continues to pull away and takes the win.

Bastiao leaves the line a little too quickly and gives Gasparrelli the win.

Payne will have lane choice over Gasparrelli in round three.

O'Bannon gets a small advantage off the line but Harker reels him in quickly. Harker drives around before they reach the sixty-foot mark, then pulls away with the quickest pass of the round.

Harker will have lane choice over Smith in round three.
