ENNIS, Texas -- Holt Cat has partnered with David Powers Motorsports and seven-time NHRA Top Fuel winner Hot Rod Fuller for the 23rd annual O'Reilly Fall Nationals, Sept. 18-21, at Texas Motorplex near Dallas it was announced today. Fuller's CaterpillarR dragster will fly the HOLT dealer lockup logo during the Dallas NHRA race.

The relationship between David Powers Motorsports, Caterpillar Inc. and the Caterpillar dealers was designed as a pilot program to increase technician recruiting. Many Caterpillar dealers are experiencing a shortage of technicians. After successful events in several NHRA markets during the 2007 season, DPM and Caterpillar inked a multiyear agreement last August to participate in the NHRA dealer recruitment program. HOLT CAT is the largest Caterpillar dealer in the nation and operates 22 locations throughout Texas from the Red River to the Rio Grande. CAT Global Petroleum also will entertain guests during the Dallas NHRA race.

"This will be an important race for our Caterpillar team as we go after our goal of winning the Top Fuel championship and having the support of the largest CAT dealer in the country behind us is a great feeling," Fuller said. "It's great that HOLT is back for a second straight season and we hope to put on a great show in the Lone Star State."

Holt Cat will have a display on the popular Manufacturer's Midway at Texas Motorplex. Holt employees will be on-site to answer questions about Caterpillar products, services, and to speak to people interested in a career as a Caterpillar dealer technician.

"We are excited about partnering with Caterpillar to sponsor David Powers Motorsports and Rod Fuller at the O'Reilly Fall Nationals," HOLT President Allyn Archer said. "Hot Rod is a very competitive driver and an excellent representative for Caterpillar and their dealers. We look forward to hosting a large number of customers at the races and interacting with technicians who are interested in a career with HOLT CAT."

Fuller currently ranks sixth in the NHRA Countdown to 1 standings following 19 of 24 races on the 2008 NHRA racing schedule. The Las Vegas racer earned his seventh career Top Fuel win by powering the Caterpillar dragster to the title of the St. Louis race in early May. Fuller also has seven career Top Fuel poles, including the Norwalk, Ohio race in June. ESPN2 will feature two hours of qualifying highlights from the O'Reilly Fall Nationals at 10 p.m. (ET) on Sept. 20, and three hours of final eliminations coverage of the Dallas NHRA race at 8:30 p.m. (ET) on Sept. 21.
