CONCORD, N.C. - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, Inaugural NHRA Carolinas Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Valerie Thompson Runs 7.291/178.80, Now #13; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Darin McCurdy No Time, Now #18; No Prior Run

Weather conditions: air temperature 88 degrees, relative humidity 58 percent, barometer 29.39 inches, adjusted altitude 3,500 feet, track temperature 103 degrees.

10:50 a.m. Let us see how the bike riders deal with the heat. Thompson makes it down the track, McCurdy launches and breaks. Thompson will go into the field for now.

Right Lane: Shawn Gann Runs 7.197/181.86, Now #14; No Prior Run

DeSantis launches hard and kind of goes sideways, he has to fight the bike all the way down the track, he was really close to the finish-line cones when he crossed the finish-line. Gann makes a very decent run.

Wells improves from yesterday, that is a shock, considering the conditions. Sampey bike breaks down track, and she will go to the bump, but I will say that she will not be qualified when we end this session.

McBride rides her bikes into the field for now. She still is fighting to keep the bike straight, but it does seem to be getting better. Ellis makes a very stout run in his attempt

Treble makes a very nice run but won't improve, Guidera runs slower than yesterday, we have only seen a couple of riders improve this session so far.

Pippin makes a great run and he moves up in the field, Rivas doesn't improve but still makes a very strong run.

Arana won't improve from yesterday but Johnson will, Johnson makes a very nice run to improve his time, but not position.

Krawiec makes our first 6 second run of the day in Pro Stock Motorcycle. Stoffer is just a tick slower than she was yesterday.

Smith will remain #1 going into the final session. Hines a makes a nice run but slows down a little more than his teammate did in the pair before. Smith is #1 and Valerie Thompson will be #16 going into the final session.
