CONCORD, N.C. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Top Fuel at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, Inaugural NHRA Carolinas Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: Doug Foley Runs 3.954/307.44, Now #1
Right Lane: Clay Millican Runs 3.980/306.74, Now #2

Weather conditions: air temperature 85 degrees, relative humidity 60 percent, barometer 29.43 inches, adjusted altitude 3,208 feet, track temperature 118 degrees.

Foley launched hard and keep it hooked up all the way down the 1000 feet. Doug Foley's incremental times: 60ft-0.889 sec., 330ft-2.232, 660ft-3.167/271.41mph. Millican with a nice pass to start the weekend...

Right Lane: J.R. Todd Runs 4.089/244.69, Now #4

Right Lane: Morgan Lucas Runs 3.984/304.94, Now #4

Vandergriff with a big puff of smoke when he lifted and apparently his used up some parts and we oil in his lane. Lucas explained after his run they went and tested, and he believes they have found some things. He goes to the number four spot...Morgan Lucas' incremental times: 60ft-0.873 sec., 330ft-2.227, 660ft-3.187/266.06mph.

Right Lane: Doug Kalitta Runs 3.936/310.84, Now #1

Kalitta with a real good looking pass and goes to number spot. Doug Kalitta's incremental times: 60ft-0.858 sec., 330ft-2.216, 660ft-3.154/273.27mph. Grubnic pitched the blower belt and coasted on through the 1000 feet.

Right Lane: Hillary Will Runs 3.927/308.07, Now #1

Herbert dropped a cylinder or two and slowed on the top end. Will launched hard and keep the Goodyears hooked up all the way down the 1000 feet. Hillary Will's incremental times: 60ft-0.873 sec., 330ft-2.212, 660ft-3.143/271.95mph.

Left Lane: Brandon Bernstein Runs 3.880/313.80, Now #1
Right Lane: Rod Fuller Runs 3.933/304.94, Now #3

Bernstein with a great pass straight down Broadway to go to the number one spot. Brandon Bernstein's incremental times: 60ft-0.863 sec., 330ft-2.187, 660ft-3.108/275.34mph. Fuller with a nice pass to go to the number three spot. Rod Fuller's incremental times: 60ft-0.874 sec., 330ft-2.207, 660ft-3.141/270.21mph.

Right Lane: Larry Dixon Runs 3.910/309.13, Now #3

This was great side-by-side drag race and these two go to the No. 2 and 3 spots. Cory McClenathan's incremental times: 60ft-0.860 sec., 330ft-2.195, 660ft-3.126/273.05mph.

Right Lane: Tony Schumacher Runs 3.937/308.92, Now #7

Brown started to strike the tires and clicked it off early. Schumacher with a clean pass, and goes to the No. 7 spot. Tony Schumacher's incremental times: 60ft-0.885 sec., 330ft-2.216, 660ft-3.151/271.19mph.
