The original slam-dunk champion returns to the drag strip with this run, his
first of the 2008 season. It was no record-setter, but it was a clean, straight pass. Left Lane: Richie Stevens Runs 6.833/202.64, Now #1 Right Lane: Lee Zane Runs 8.594/112.50, Now #3 Stevens is now in the seat of Kenny Koretsky's NitroFish GXP. Northrop's run looked okay, but his 1.035 60-foot time appeared to be the result of some tire shake. Left Lane: Vinnie Deceglie No Time, Now #9 Right Lane: Todd Hoerner No Time, Now #8 With a foot of rain on Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park over the past week, the ground is saturated and the afternoon heat is producing "weepers" in the shutdown area. These two were ready to make their burnouts when they were signaled to shut off and the Safety Safari trucks just rolled to the top end to dry things out. 4:00 p.m. 9:29 p.m. Race officials have just
cancelled the rest of Friday's schedule.
