NORWALK, Ohio - 7:15 p.m. - Another hour, another update. As predicted, as the sunshine fades and the track cools, the hydrostatic pressure is dropping and the flow of water is decreasing. Several pieces of Kubota equipment from a display at the race were called into action to work on the problem and the NHRA "Super Sucker" has been used to remove as much water as possible. Meanwhile, the Safety Safari is now also working on several wet spots in the left lane, about 300 feet out. Those same spots were troublesome yesterday, but were handled with track workers mopping the damp spots with towels after each pair of cars that went down the track. A storm front appeared to be approaching over the past hour or so, but the weather fell apart as it neared the track and now does not appear to be a threat. Stay tuned - still no official estimate of how much longer this delay will last, but the problem appears to be decreasing.
