Still Weeping
By Larry Sullivan

NORWALK, Ohio - 6:15 p.m. - The delay continues. Track officials brought in a backhoe about an hour ago and are digging a trench alongside the right lane in an attempt to relieve the hydrostatic pressure that is fueling the weepers.

There is still no official estimate of how much longer the delay will last, but as the Sun sets and track temperatures start to drop, the problem could fix itself.

The good news is, there is no curfew at Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park. Barring severe weather, both scheduled professional qualifying sessions and the Top Alcohol session between them can be run once the track is dry.
