7:39 p.m. The end of a long day and a tragic weekend finds two very good drivers facing off in very different machines, Hernandez with a supercharged engine, Castellana with a big-displacement nitrous engine, both in '68 Camaros.

This was a good race almost to the eighth-mile, then Castellana's car nosed over and the race was anticlimactic.
