Ellis is 3 - 2 against Rivas in prior events and this is the first time they have faced each other in a final round. This is Rivas' third final, with one win, at Joliet. This is Ellis' ninth final, second of the season, with five prior wins.

Rivas was too eager and Ellis got a free pass to the winner's circle.
