ENGLISHTOWN, N.J. (June 17, 2008) -
The relationship between David Powers Motorsports, Caterpillar and the Caterpillar dealers was designed as a pilot program to increase technician recruiting. Many Caterpillar dealers are experiencing a shortage of technicians. After successful events in several NHRA markets during the 2007 season, DPM and Caterpillar inked a multiyear agreement last August to participate in the NHRA dealer recruitment program. H.O. Penn CAT will use this opportunity for recruiting as well as to display its products and services available to contractors in the region. H.O. Penn is the exclusive dealer for Caterpillar equipment serving six locations in New York and Connecticut. Today H.O. Penn has nearly 400 employees and an annual sales volume of over $200 million. "We're really seeing a lot of dealer support for our NHRA racing program and that's a great feeling," Fuller said. "Englishtown is one of our biggest races on the circuit and we've done well there, so we want to put on a great show for all the folks from H.O. Penn and the die hard drag racing fans in the Northeast." H.O. Penn also will have a display on the popular Manufacturer's Midway at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park with employees on site to answer questions and speak to people interested in a career as a Caterpillar dealer technician or assistant with equipment questions. Fuller currently ranks fifth in the NHRA Top Fuel standings following 10 of 24 races on the 2008 NHRA schedule. The Las Vegas racer earned his seventh career Top Fuel win by powering the Caterpillar dragster to the title of the St. Louis race in early May. Fuller also has six career Top Fuel poles. Fuller won the historic Englishtown race in 2006. ESPN2 will feature 60 minutes of qualifying highlights from the Lucas Oil Products SuperNationals at 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. (ET) on June 21 and three hours of final eliminations coverage of the Englishtown race at 8 p.m. (ET) on June 22.
