TOPEKA, Kan. - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 20th annual O'Reilly NHRA Summer Nationals presented by Castrol GTX listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Right Lane: Kenny Koretsky Runs 6.805/201.88, Now #13; No Prior Run

Weather conditions: air temperature 78 degrees, relative humidity 60 percent, barometer 28.82 inches, adjusted altitude 3,348 feet, track temperature 102 degrees.

the word is they broke a lifter yesterday on the burnout. Koretsky with good clean pass, we will see how this stacks up against the rest of the field.


Left Lane: Lamar Swindoll Jr Runs 6.828/200.59, Now #15; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Todd Hoerner Runs 6.760/202.61, Now #11; No Prior Run

Hoerner with a nice pass to move into the show at the number 11 spot...Todd Hoerner's incremental times: 60ft-1.000 sec., 330ft-2.814, 660ft-4.334/161.38mph, 1,000ft-5.649

Left Lane: Max Naylor Runs 6.814/199.61, Now #15; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Ben Watson Runs 6.867/199.97, Now #17; No Prior Run

Watson with tire spin right off the starting line. Naylor was straight down the track.

Left Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 6.749/203.43, Now #4; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Bob Yonke Runs 6.804/201.46, Now #15; No Prior Run

Lamar Swindoll Jr is on the bump spot at 6.828. Morgan with very good looking run to go to the number four spot...Larry Morgan's incremental times: 60ft-0.993 sec., 330ft-2.810, 660ft-4.329/161.67mph, 1,000ft-5.642 Yonke gets into the show and that bumps out Naylor.

Left Lane: Tom Hammonds Runs 6.767/202.88, Now #15; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Johnny Gray Runs 6.776/203.55, Now #16; No Prior Run

These two with a couple good looking passes to get into the show and that will bump out Yonke and Koretsky.

Left Lane: Greg Stanfield Runs 6.732/203.68, Now #3; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 9.874/93.98, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.764/205.26, Was #14

WJ with problems as soon as he let the clutch out and it made a quick move toward the wall. He pushed the clutch back in and coasted on through the quarter mile. Stanfield with a nice looking pass to move up the the number three spot...Greg Stanfield's incremental times: 60ft-0.996 sec., 330ft-2.805, 660ft-4.320/162.22mph, 1,000ft-5.627

Left Lane: Ron Krisher Runs 6.723/204.23, Now #1; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Justin Humphreys Runs 6.770/203.09, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.761/203.68, Was #14

Krisher with the quickest 60-foot time of the day and he parlayed that into the number one spot...Ron Krisher's incremental times: 60ft-0.995 sec., 330ft-2.802, 660ft-4.315/162.22mph, 1,000ft-5.621 He will bump out Hammonds. Humphreys with a nice pass, but will not improve on his time from yesterday.

Left Lane: V. Gaines Runs 6.737/203.31, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.760/202.85, Was #13
Right Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 6.785/202.70, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.759/203.61, Was #12

Gaines moves into the top half of the field with a very nice pass...V. Gaines' incremental times: 60ft-0.990 sec., 330ft-2.800, 660ft-4.318/161.79mph, 1,000ft-5.630 Anderson slows from his time yesterday.

Left Lane: Jeg Coughlin No Time, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.755/203.12, Was #12
Right Lane: Mike Edwards Runs 6.736/204.29, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.752/204.48, Was #9

Coughlin with problems after the burnout and is pushed off the starting line. Edwards moves in to the top half of the show with a real nice pass...Mike Edwards' incremental times: 60ft-1.001 sec., 330ft-2.813, 660ft-4.328/162.02mph, 1,000ft-5.635

Left Lane: Jim Yates Runs 9.982/90.47, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.754/203.55, Was #11
Right Lane: Rickie Jones Runs 6.760/203.61, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.751/203.43, Was #9

Yates with the quickest 60-foot time of the weekend and then he has problems and pushes in the clutch and coast on through the 1320....Jim Yates' incremental times: 60ft-0.988 sec., 330ft-2.928,

Jones with another nice looking pass, but will not improve...Rickie Jones' incremental times: 60ft-0.999 sec., 330ft-2.823, 660ft-4.342/161.81mph, 1,000ft-5.653

Left Lane: Jason Line Runs 6.751/203.16, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.753/203.12, Was #10
Right Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 7.082/152.85, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.742/203.89, Was #7

Johnson with problems and he coast on through the quarter mile. Line with his best pass of the weekend, but doesn't move up the ladder...Jason Line's incremental times: 60ft-0.987 sec., 330ft-2.808, 660ft-4.330/161.40mph, 1,000ft-5.643

Left Lane: Dave Connolly Runs 6.720/204.51, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.730/204.20, Was #2
Right Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 6.724/204.66, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.731/204.42, Was #3

This was a great drag race and Connolly goes to the number one spot and Johnson goes to the number three spot. Dave Connolly's incremental times: 60ft-0.992 sec., 330ft-2.801, 660ft-4.313/162.45mph, 1,000ft-5.619
