Neff Wows NASCAR Crowd with Massive Burnout

CHARLOTTE --

The day after Old Spice driver Mike Neff toured the still under construction zMAX Dragway in Concord, North Carolina he gave racing fans at NASCAR's Lowes Motor Speedway a taste of what they could expect from their new neighbor.

In front of a Coca-Cola 600 pre-race crowd of nearly 100,000 Neff laid down one of the most impressive burnouts in recent memory on pit road. Fans were on their feet when the Old Spice Ford Mustang was simply started and after it made a quick warm-up hop they were whipped into a frenzy of anticipation.

Neff backed up and positioned his 8,000 hp fuel coupe for the first full powered NHRA burnout in the history of Lowes Motor Speedway. When Neff hit the throttle a massive cloud of smoke bellowed from his Mustang and as he powered down pit road past many of the stars of NASCAR the roar of the crowd was deafening.

"That was awesome. Making that burn-out was incredible. I had to get off the throttle because I could feel my Old Spice Mustang starting to really pull. I think it was about to hook-up on pit road. When I got to the end of pit road there were people everywhere congratulating me on putting on such a great show," said Neff.

"Force really wanted to do the burn out but he knew it was important for Old Spice to be the focus and I really appreciate him giving me the chance to get in front of this many people to show off the power of the NHRA. Everyone has been great and I know they are really looking forward to seeing us back here in September. Hopefully giving them a little taste of what they can see will help them sell some more tickets," added Neff.

Neff's burnout was part of track president Humpy Wheeler's trademark epic opening ceremonies that included Apache helicopters, Howitzer cannons, paratroopers, and more music than most concerts.
