BRISTOL, Tenn. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Top Fuel at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, Eighth annual O'Reilly NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals presented by Q listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Morgan Lucas Runs 11.121/77.76, Now #12; Best prior run: 4.795/312.50, Was #12
Right Lane: Alan Bradshaw Runs 12.549/69.49, Now #15; Best prior run: 14.921/75.76, Was #15

Bradshaw was up in smoke right at the hit and Lucas lost traction right after he Bradshaw.

Left Lane: Cory McClenathan Runs 4.619/312.50, Now #6; Best prior run: 4.660/309.84, Was #9
Right Lane: Bob Vandergriff Runs 4.636/319.37, Now #8; Best prior run: 11.066/79.64, Was #14

This was good looking drag race here under the lights...the header flames shooting over the rear wing on both cars all the way down the 1320. Cory McClenathan's incremental times: 60ft-0.856 sec., 330ft-2.162, 660ft-3.099/265.64mph, 1,000ft-3.910
Bob Vandergriff's incremental times: 60ft-0.869 sec., 330ft-2.196, 660ft-3.136/267.80mph, 1,000ft-3.940

Left Lane: Larry Dixon Runs 11.033/81.87, Now #10; Best prior run: 4.648/313.73, Was #9
Right Lane: Rod Fuller Runs 4.584/316.23, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.214/185.23, Was #14

Dixon lost traction early and clicked it off. Fuller launched hard and keep the Goodyears stuck all the way down the quarter mile. Rod Fuller's incremental times: 60ft-0.864 sec., 330ft-2.182, 660ft-3.091/276.58mph, 1,000ft-3.881

Left Lane: Brandon Bernstein Runs 4.581/323.50, Now #3; Best prior run: 4.634/325.92, Was #8
Right Lane: Antron Brown Runs 4.542/330.15, Now #2; Best prior run: 4.732/272.89, Was #13

This was another great drag race as both of these two had the candles lit all the way down the quarter mile. Brown goes to the number two spot and Bernstein to the number three spot. Brandon Bernstein's incremental times: 60ft-0.862 sec., 330ft-2.191, 660ft-3.115/274.16mph, 1,000ft-3.898

Left Lane: David Grubnic Runs 4.526/311.85, Now #1; Best prior run: 4.602/311.49, Was #7
Right Lane: Doug Herbert Runs 4.578/316.97, Now #4; Best prior run: 4.671/291.45, Was #13

Left Lane: J.R. Todd Runs 4.584/327.90, Now #7; Best prior run: 4.597/328.30, Was #7
Right Lane: Hillary Will Runs 4.570/323.50, Now #4; Best prior run: 4.604/316.23, Was #9

Todd improves but will stay in the number seven spot...J.R. Todd's incremental times: 60ft-0.872 sec., 330ft-2.211, 660ft-3.135/275.67mph, 1,000ft-3.909 Will with another great pass and she gets into the top half of the show...Hillary Will's incremental times: 60ft-0.881 sec., 330ft-2.216, 660ft-3.117/279.50mph, 1,000ft-3.889

Right Lane: Doug Kalitta Runs 4.536/320.66, Now #3; Best prior run: 4.600/317.94, Was #9

Schumacher hiked the front tires on the launch and then blasted on through the quarter mile with a great looking pass to go to the number one spot. Tony Schumacher's incremental times: 60ft-0.852 sec., 330ft-2.152, 660ft-3.054/278.46mph, 1,000ft-3.827 Kalitta with a great pass to go to the number three spot...Doug Kalitta's incremental times: 60ft-0.867 sec., 330ft-2.178, 660ft-3.078/280.37mph, 1,000ft-3.849
