HOLT, Fla. -- Jerry Eckman was released of his duties as crew chief of Team Hammonds, owned by Tom Hammonds Enterprises, LLC.

"Jerry is a good person, and I respect him a lot. At this time, we are going in a different direction with our race program, and unfortunately we had to make this change," said Tom Hammonds, team owner and driver.

Eckman started with the team in the 2007 season where the team ran 18 races and appeared in one semi-final, two quarter finals, and six first round elimination sessions. For the 2008 season, the team is on a five-race DNQ streak.
