Pro Stock Motorcycle Qualifying Notes, Final Session

MADISON, Ill. - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 12th annual O'Reilly NHRA Midwest Nationals presented by Castrol listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Redell Harris Runs 7.268/183.67, Now #18; No Prior Run

Weather conditions: air temperature 65 degrees, relative humidity 40 percent, barometer 29.48 inches, adjusted altitude 1,305 feet, track temperature 89 degrees.



Left Lane: Angie McBride No Time, Now #19; Best prior run: 11.799/66.74, Was #19
Right Lane: Junior Pippin Runs 7.081/183.89, Now #15; Best prior run: 7.133/183.97, Was #15

McBride continues to have problems...Pippin with his quickest pass of the weekend and he will get into the show for now.

Left Lane: Wes Wells Runs 7.174/184.62, Now #17; Best prior run: 7.192/183.00, Was #17
Right Lane: Joe DeSantis Runs 7.140/189.63, Now #14; Best prior run: 7.029/187.60, Was #14

Wells with his quickest pass of the weekend, but he will not get into the show. No help for DeSantis.

Left Lane: David Hope Runs 7.280/183.57, Now #16; Best prior run: 7.138/183.00, Was #16
Right Lane: Mike Berry No Time, Now #10; Best prior run: 7.007/188.54, Was #10

Berry with problems when they fired the bike and shut it off. No help for Hope and he will stay on the bump.

Left Lane: Chris Rivas Runs 6.993/188.86, Now #8; Best prior run: 7.011/188.49, Was #13
Right Lane: Hector Arana Runs 7.081/185.49, Now #10; Best prior run: 7.007/188.65, Was #9

Rivas with his best pass of the weekend and moves into top half of the show. Chris Rivas' incremental times: 60ft-1.086 sec., 330ft-2.904, 660ft-4.451/158.30mph, 1,000ft-5.812

Left Lane: Karen Stoffer Runs 6.964/191.62, Now #5; Best prior run: 7.008/189.79, Was #13
Right Lane: Matt Guidera Runs 7.095/185.56, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.994/187.70, Was #9

Stoffer with a great pass, the quickest she has gone this season...Karen Stoffer's incremental times: 60ft-1.083 sec., 330ft-2.890, 660ft-4.435/158.13mph, 1,000ft-5.795 she moves into the top half of the show.

Left Lane: Shawn Gann Runs 6.995/191.02, Now #11; Best prior run: 7.008/190.24, Was #13
Right Lane: Craig Treble Runs 7.044/191.05, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.989/192.38, Was #8

Gann with his quickest pass of the season and then has problems getting the bike stopped. He ended up in the sand. Shawn Gann's incremental times: 60ft-1.076 sec., 330ft-2.898, 660ft-4.455/157.14mph, 1,000ft-5.823 Gann moves up the ladder a couple spots. No help here for Treble.

Left Lane: Angelle Sampey Runs 6.961/187.73, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.982/187.86, Was #7
Right Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 7.015/186.23, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.966/189.50, Was #6

Sampey with her quickest pass on a Buell and moves up the ladder a couple spots. Angelle Sampey's incremental times: 60ft-1.063 sec., 330ft-2.864, 660ft-4.401/158.39mph, 1,000ft-5.771 Johnson with a nice pass, but doesn't improve.

Left Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 6.978/191.84, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.943/189.36, Was #3
Right Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 6.986/191.10, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.945/188.99, Was #4

Another couple good looking passes for the Harleys.

Left Lane: Matt Smith Runs 6.905/191.32, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.901/190.32, Was #1
Right Lane: Chip Ellis Runs 6.907/191.27, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.907/191.62, Was #2

This was a great drag race to wrap up qualifying. ellis matched his E.T. from the previous round and Smith is just a couple ticks slower. These two stay number ones and two...Matt Smith's incremental times: 60ft-1.059 sec., 330ft-2.855, 660ft-4.389/159.46mph, 1,000ft-5.740
