Pro Stock Motorcycle Qualifying Notes, Session #3

MADISON, Ill. - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 12th annual O'Reilly NHRA Midwest Nationals presented by Castrol listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Right Lane: Angie McBride Runs 11.799/66.74, Now #19; Best prior run: 9.806/80.48, Was #19

Weather conditions: air temperature 60 degrees, relative humidity 45 percent, barometer 29.42 inches, adjusted altitude 1,081 feet, track temperature 81 degrees.

The engine sounded like it bogged right off the starting line.


Left Lane: Joe DeSantis Runs 7.029/187.60, Now #11; Best prior run: 7.191/184.72, Was #16
Right Lane: Chris Rivas Runs 7.027/185.18, Now #9; Best prior run: 7.011/188.49, Was #9

DeSantis with a career best E.T. here to go to the number 11 spot. Joe DeSantis' incremental times: 60ft-1.094 sec., 330ft-2.918, 660ft-4.474/157.15mph, 1,000ft-5.842

Left Lane: Mike Berry Runs 7.007/188.54, Now #7; Best prior run: 7.079/188.12, Was #15
Right Lane: Wes Wells Runs 7.192/183.00, Now #17; Best prior run: 7.227/180.62, Was #17

Berry with a career best E.T, to get into the top half of the field. Mike Berry's incremental times: 60ft-1.087 sec., 330ft-2.897, 660ft-4.451/157.03mph, 1,000ft-5.822 Wells with his best pass of the weekend, but will not get into the show.

Left Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 6.966/189.50, Now #3; Best prior run: 7.058/186.56, Was #14

Johnson with his career best E.T. pass here to go to the number three spot. Steve Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-1.090 sec., 330ft-2.899, 660ft-4.439/158.86mph, 1,000ft-5.792

Left Lane: Junior Pippin Runs 7.133/183.97, Now #15; Best prior run: 7.065/186.51, Was #14
Right Lane: David Hope Runs 7.138/183.00, Now #16; Best prior run: 7.169/184.14, Was #16

these two fired and then the word from the top end was there wer a couple sprinkles so we were down for a couple minutes. Hope with another career best, but will stay on the bump.

Left Lane: Hector Arana Runs 7.007/188.65, Now #8; Best prior run: 7.044/186.82, Was #14
Right Lane: Karen Stoffer Runs 14.480/46.69, Now #11; Best prior run: 7.008/189.79, Was #10

Stoffer made a quick move toward the centerline and clicked it off. Arana with his best pass this weekend to move into the top half of the show. Hector Arana's incremental times: 60ft-1.069 sec., 330ft-2.892, 660ft-4.453/156.81mph, 1,000ft-5.824

Left Lane: Craig Treble Runs 6.989/192.38, Now #6; Best prior run: 7.008/190.89, Was #10
Right Lane: Shawn Gann Runs 7.008/190.24, Now #11; Best prior run: 7.021/187.76, Was #13

Gann with his best pass of the season, and moves up the ladder a couple spots. Treble with his quickest pass of the season and he moves into the top half of the field. Craig Treble's incremental times: 60ft-1.069 sec., 330ft-2.912, 660ft-4.467/157.76mph, 1,000ft-5.825

Left Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 6.945/188.99, Now #1; Best prior run: 7.000/188.99, Was #8
Right Lane: Angelle Sampey Runs 7.054/181.86, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.982/187.86, Was #5

Sampey got out of the groove early and close to the centerline. Krawiec with a great pass, his career best E.T. to go to the number one spot. Eddie Krawiec's incremental times: 60ft-1.089 sec., 330ft-2.885, 660ft-4.422/159.12mph, 1,000ft-5.772

Left Lane: Matt Guidera Runs 7.002/188.38, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.994/187.70, Was #8
Right Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 6.943/189.36, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.982/189.07, Was #5

Hines with a nice pass, his quickest of the season and he goes to the number one spot. The bike made a quick move toward the wall appears the wind blew him. Andrew Hines' incremental times: 60ft-1.091 sec., 330ft-2.884, 660ft-4.422/158.58mph, 1,000ft-5.771

Left Lane: Chip Ellis Runs 6.907/191.62, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.957/190.22, Was #3
Right Lane: Matt Smith Runs 6.901/190.32, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.957/190.08, Was #4

This was a great drag race to wrap up a great session. Ellis with a career best E.T. to go to the number two spot. Chip Ellis' incremental times: 60ft-1.048 sec., 330ft-2.845, 660ft-4.388/158.67mph, 1,000ft-5.742 Smith ties his career best and track E.T. record to go to the number one spot. Matt Smith's incremental times: 60ft-1.060 sec., 330ft-2.841, 660ft-4.377/158.73mph, 1,000ft-5.732
