GLENDORA, Calif. -- NHRA President Tom Compton and NHRA Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Gary Darcy are among featured speakers at the eighth annual Motorsports Marketing Forum at the InterContinental Barclay New York, Nov. 27-28.

Compton will be a featured speaker in "The Next Wave in the Business of Motorsports: New Investment and Ownership Models," along with Jay Monahan of Fenway Sports Group and Matthew Doherty of McLaren Capital Advisors. The group will talk about what's bringing new investors to the sport and how ownership models are changing in response to the new economics of racing.

Darcy will be a featured speaker in "The State of Motorsports: Charting the Course of an Industry in Flux" and will join other leading motorsports executives on the panel, including Terry Angstadt of IRL; David Higdon of Champ Car; Steve Lauletta of Chip Ganassi Racing; Jim Obermeyer of NASCAR; Max Siegel of DEI and Roger VanderSnick of ISC. Each panelist will provide insights on the direction of the motorsports industry in the year ahead.

The Motorsports Marketing Forum is hosted annually by Street & Smith's SportsBusiness Journal and Street & Smith's SportsBusiness Daily. The conference features presentations and forums with top executives from all areas of the motorsports industry, including race teams, sponsors, sanctioning bodies, tracks and broadcasting partners. Other noted featured speakers during the two-day forum include Ben Reiling, senior manager, sports marketing for Coca-Cola Co.; Jill Frederickson of ESPN; Laura Kouns, motorsports marketing manager for UPS; and NHRA team owner Don Schumacher.
