Pro Modified Qualifying Notes, Session #1
By Bob Orme

LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, Seventh annual ACDelco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Right Lane: Dennis Radford Runs 18.312/33.19, Now #1

3:46 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 85 degrees, relative humidity 16 percent, barometer 27.78 inches, adjusted altitude 4,296 feet, track temperature 105 degrees.

Radford launched hard and the car went into a huge wheel stand on one tire. It looked like he broke the wheelie bar on the hit.

Left Lane: Mike Moran Runs 9.656/119.50, Now #1
Right Lane: Gary Mason No Time, Now #4

Mason broke something in the driveline and the car wouldn't move either forward or backward at the end of his burnout. Moran's car fishtailed wildly to the 330-foot mark where he lifted.
