Naves drives the tires loose off the line on his single and gets way sideways before giving up. Left Lane: Tony Bogolo Runs 16.114/61.65, Now #12; Best prior run: 5.967/228.89, Was #11 Right Lane: Scott McNiece Runs 5.910/234.57, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.037/235.39, Was #14 Mc Niece run a long way very close to the guardrail trying to qualify. He runs a career best ET, but won't make the show. Bogolo has starting line problems, pumping the throttle and gives it up. Thomas shows the ladies how to do it with a career best ET, fastest event MPH, and the new #1 position and "Last ManStanding" for now. Lebsack smokes the tires at the hit and won't qualify. Left Lane: Terry Munroe Runs 5.739/242.45, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.828/241.15, Was #6 Right Lane: Neal Parker Runs 5.767/241.76, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.865/237.21, Was #9 What a great looking pair of side by side passes. Parker bumps into the field and into the #3 position. Munroe takes the stripe first and captures the current #2 spot. Stevens was chasing him until there way a Big Bang and flash of fire from the engine at mid-track. Nothing on the track, so we keep on running funny cars.
