Pro Stock Motorcycle Qualifying Notes, Session #3

ENNIS, Texas - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 22nd annual O'Reilly NHRA Fall Nationals presented by Castrol Syntec listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Tom Bradford Runs 7.174/182.92, Now #14; Best prior run: 7.161/183.59, Was #14
Right Lane: Antron Brown Runs 7.066/187.76, Now #6; Best prior run: 7.126/184.98, Was #8

11:23 a.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 81 degrees, relative humidity 47 percent, barometer 29.47 inches, adjusted altitude 2,264 feet, track temperature 114 degrees.

Bradford and Brown start off this session with a couple of pretty good runs. Bradford doesn't improve but is right where he was yesterday. Brown improves and moves up a couple of notches to sixth.


Left Lane: Jim Randolph Runs 7.335/184.50, Now #22; Best prior run: 17.885/39.16, Was #22
Right Lane: Joe DeSantis Runs 7.207/186.28, Now #17; Best prior run: 7.249/186.28, Was #19

Randolph makes his first full pass of the weekend but it's not enough to get him in the show. The same for DeSantis, his quickest also, but not good enough.

Left Lane: Shawn Gann Runs 7.289/185.21, Now #21; Best prior run: 7.291/185.54, Was #21
Right Lane: Michael Ray Runs 7.163/185.13, Now #15; Best prior run: 7.271/181.50, Was #20

Ray makes his quickest run of the weekend and he gets in the 15th spot for now. No help for Gann.

Left Lane: Blaine Hale Runs 7.170/186.15, Now #17; Best prior run: 7.237/183.82, Was #20
Right Lane: Michael Phillips Runs 7.144/190.40, Now #12; Best prior run: 7.215/189.20, Was #19

Hale makes his quickest of the weekend but he can't get the new bike in the field. Phillips makes a big move and gets in the 12th spot for now. Michael Ray is on the bump spot at 7.163.

Left Lane: Chris Rivas Runs 7.685/132.88, Now #18; Best prior run: 7.175/180.81, Was #18
Right Lane: Mike Berry Runs 7.214/183.72, Now #19; Best prior run: 7.184/185.49, Was #19

Rivas has problems late in the run and the engine goes silent about 1000 feet out. Berry makes a full pass but can't get in the show.

Left Lane: Geno Scali Runs 7.082/189.34, Now #9; Best prior run: 7.137/188.25, Was #11
Right Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 7.121/188.99, Now #10; Best prior run: 7.153/186.74, Was #14

Two good runs, Scali moves up to the ninth spot, Johnson to the tenth.

Left Lane: Matt Guidera Runs 7.111/185.97, Now #11; Best prior run: 7.132/186.02, Was #12
Right Lane: Craig Treble Runs 7.077/191.13, Now #9; Best prior run: 7.144/190.06, Was #14

...and the movement continues. Guidera improves a little and moves into the 11th spot. Treble makes a big move and goes all the way to the ninth spot.

Left Lane: Matt Smith Runs 6.996/188.81, Now #1; Best prior run: 7.128/185.89, Was #13
Right Lane: Angelle Sampey Runs 7.075/187.96, Now #8; Best prior run: 7.075/189.02, Was #7

Sampey runs the same time she ran last night and drops a notch. Smith makes a great pass and takes the top spot for now.

Left Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 7.062/187.52, Now #7; Best prior run: 7.076/188.10, Was #9
Right Lane: Hector Arana Runs 7.042/189.10, Now #4; Best prior run: 7.053/189.18, Was #6

Both run weekend bests, both move up.

Left Lane: Peggy Llewellyn Runs 7.029/188.65, Now #4; Best prior run: 7.045/185.61, Was #6
Right Lane: Karen Stoffer Runs 7.038/190.65, Now #5; Best prior run: 7.045/190.16, Was #5

A couple of weekend best again. Llewellyn goes around Stoffer in the order, Stoffer stays in the fifth spot.

Left Lane: Chip Ellis Runs 6.976/191.32, Now #1; Best prior run: 7.017/190.75, Was #3
Right Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 6.986/190.46, Now #2; Best prior run: 7.015/190.62, Was #2

Ellis and Hines join Smith in the 6's this weekend. Ellis makes the quickest pass of the weekend so far and takes the top spot, Hines falls in right behind in the second spot.
