Massey once again has problems off the line and boils the tires early.

Thacker hopes to put a blown car into the finals.

And he does. Bohr has heavy tire spin but is still accelerating. He wacks the throttle trying to get caught up, but after almost crossing the centerline at 330 and 1000 feet, finally gives up.

Thacker will meet the fuel car of Hirata in the finals.
