CLERMONT, Ind. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro RWD at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 53rd annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: Boris Rojas Runs 7.642/169.64, Now #1
Right Lane: Manny Cruz Runs 9.553/140.58, Now #2

I didn't know that trucks were included in Sport Compacts, but you learn something every day.

Weather conditions: air temperature 74 degrees, relative humidity 47 percent, barometer 29.27 inches, adjusted altitude 2,015 feet, track temperature 81 degrees.

Rojas barely got on the chip before the tree went green but still manages a good run.

Cruz was off the throttle early.

Right Lane: Gary Lee White Runs 6.645/208.30, Now #1

A pair of Titan cars line up together. Conditions are pretty good, so we're hoping these guys get it right and show us some great numbers.

Personett is very aggressive and loses the rear slicks at about 200 feet. The Scion makes a nasty move to the wall and he shuts it off.

White goes right down the track, but is trailing light white smoke the entire way. We're down for a cleanup in the left lane down in the shut down area 10:11 a.m.
