LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA, Pontiac Pro Stock Showdown listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Left Lane: Justin Humphreys Runs 6.855/202.98, Now #2
Right Lane: Rodger Brogden Runs 6.780/203.92, Now #1

First round of Pontiac Pro Stock Showdown qualifying. Both of these guys with their best passes of the weekend.

Left Lane: Tom Hammonds Runs 6.909/201.91, Now #4
Right Lane: Dwayne Rice Runs 6.777/203.74, Now #1

Rice with a real nice move and his best pass of the weekend. Dwayne Rice's incremental times: 60ft-1.010 sec., 330ft-2.837, 660ft-4.361/161.77mph, 1,000ft-5.672 Hammonds with a little wiggle.

Left Lane: Ben Watson Runs 6.767/202.82, Now #1
Right Lane: Kenny Koretsky No Time, Now #6

Koretsky with problems as soon as he let the clutch out and coast down the track, but was timed out before he reached the finish line. Watson with his best pass of the weekend. Ben Watson's incremental times: 60ft-0.994 sec., 330ft-2.819, 660ft-4.343/161.46mph, 1,000ft-5.657

Left Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.796/205.57, Now #5
Right Lane: Tony Rizzo Runs 6.779/204.14, Now #3

Jeggie had the quickest pass of yesterday's test session with a 6.690 seconds. Coughlin with tire shake right off the starting line, but drove through it. Rizzo with his best pass of the weekend. Tony Rizzo's incremental times: 60ft-1.011 sec., 330ft-2.843, 660ft-4.366/161.75mph, 1,000ft-5.676

Last year's final round of the Pontiac Pro Stock Showdown, the one Larry Morgan won. Johnson wins this on and gets into the top half of the show for now.

The Summit cars wrap up round one of qualifying. Anderson goes to the top of the list with a real nice pass.
