Toyo Tires NHRA Nationals Date Change

MOHNTON, Pa. -- With the 2006 season finally in the books the folks at Maple Grove Raceway are already busy making plans for next season. Several facility upgrades are set for 2007. First is additional pit paving. Yearly, the Stauffer family has reinvested in the property making it one of the largest drawing tracks on the east coast. The additional paving is required due to the ever increasing size of race rigs and hospitality that is now part of the Toyo Tires NHRA Nationals. In 2006, several areas were paved increasing pit parking for the race teams and a terrace built below the staging lanes for manufacturers and racecar parking. A new credential building was also completed just prior to the running of the 2006 Toyo Tires NHRA Nationals.

The track surface will be milled in late spring. The track being in the northeast needless to say is susceptible to the ever changing movement of the earth in this region and has caused some irregularities in the racing surface.

If all falls into place as planned new LED scoreboards will be installed. In 1995, Maple Grove Raceway was one of the first tracks in the country to install Compulink scoreboards that read to thousandths of a second.

Lastly, the ever popular Toyo Tires NHRA Nationals will move from its traditional September date to August 16 - 19, 2007. The event will be the last event on the NHRA POWERade tour for the "Countdown 8".
