Kadar is Weekend's First Repeat Winner at The Strip at LVMS



LAS VEGAS --

Jeff Devey of Twin Falls, Idaho, won this afternoon's $47,000 Ultimate Gambler at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway during the third day of the Las Vegas Bracket Nationals. Devey defeated Kyle Seipel of San Leandro, Calif., after yesterday's Super Pro winner fouled (red-lit) on the starting line. For the record books, Devey ran the eighth-mile at 4.785 sec./145.81 mph with a reaction time of .134.

In the Pro category, Tibor Kadar became the weekend's first repeat winner after defeating Marvin Roles of Chino, Calif. Kadar, of Peoria, Ariz., scored his 18th consecutive winning round by turning in a reaction time of .006 with a run of 10.947 sec./120.29 mph. Roles ensured Kadar's second consecutive Pro victory by fouling at the starting line (-.005).

Byron Boyd of Hat Creek, Calif., defeated Les Figueroa of Lake Havasu, Ariz., to score the $5,000 Super Pro win. Although Figueroa posted a better reaction time (.027 to .039), Boyd outran him 10.554 sec./129.98 mph to 7.481 sec./177.25 mph.

Robbie Irving of Boulder City defeated Rick Emanuel of Las Vegas to claim the evening's Sportsman title.
