GLENDORA, Calif. -- The NHRA Xplod Sport Compact Racing Series has released its 2007 Rulebook, which can be downloaded at http://www.nhrasportcompact.com/2007/rules/index.html.

The rule book changes build upon the successes of 2006 and are designed to ensure the high level of performance currently enjoyed by the premier sport compact series in the country.

"The goal of the NHRA Sport Compact Tech Committee is to develop rules to increase participation while continuing to provide fans with the best side-by-side sport compact drag racing in the country," said Josh Peterson, general manager, NHRA Xplod Sport Compact Racing Series

Some of the changes include enhanced requirements for oil containment devices to reduce the number of oildowns and adjustments for weight and turbo sizes to promote growth and parity in all categories.

The series is highlighted by its five championship classes (Pro RWD, Pro FWD, Modified, Hot Rod and Honda Tuning All Motor). In addition, the NHRA Xplod Stylefest showcases a compliment of the lifestyle and entertainment elements synonymous with today's sport compact scene.
