1:46 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 72 degrees, relative humidity 36 percent, barometer 29.19 inches, adjusted altitude 1,931 feet, track temperature 94 degrees.

Upsets earlier and unexpectedly #12 meets #13 in round two. Great race with Gaines off the line first and driving through a big swerve out of the groove at 60 feet. Northrop has a little wiggly too and has to watch the back of Gaines' Kendall Oil Stratus on down to the finish line. V. Gaines' MOV: 0.0218 seconds (approximately 7 feet).

Edwards out first and stay in front to about the 330 lights, where the big Johnson Team power pushes the Dodge on by and into the win. Allen Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-1.015 sec., 330ft-2.807, 660ft-4.300/164.71mph, 1,000ft-5.589

Identical RT's off the line and Anderson then drives away with another improvement in ET and MPH. He'll have lane choice over Johnson in round three.

A small advantage off the line for Connolly isn't enough to hold off the Champ. Connolly ran an identical ET to the first round, but low six sixties and 208 MPH passes are hard to beat. Line will have lane choice over Gaines in the next round.
