Todd Patterson's incremental times: 60ft-1.122 sec., 330ft-3.259, 660ft-5.060/136.34mph, 1,000ft-6.615 I was watching Patterson and didn't see what happened to Fitzgerald but he was off the power by half track. Left Lane: Mike DePalma Runs 8.219/163.75/-0.621, Now #10; F/A Index: 8.84, Prior Best: 8.214/162.90/-0.626, Was #10 Right Lane: Jeff Taylor Runs 8.690/154.85/-0.680, Now #3; E/SM Index: 9.37, Prior Best: 8.724/149.35/-0.646, Was #6 Taylor picks up .03 and moves up the the #3 position. It looked like lots of wheelspin going to 330. Left Lane: Bo Butner Runs 7.080/187.86/-0.700, Now #3; AA/SM Index: 7.78, Prior Best: 9.395/109.62/1.615, Was #41 Bob Frey predicts a 7.09 for Butner and it would be hard to find anyone who bet against him getting in the field. Hey, not bad for an announcer, huh? Bo runs 7.080 and goes right to the top. There's some drama at the top end as there seemed to be an orange flash from the car right after it crossed the finish line. Butner stopped the car NOW! and quickly exited. The safety crew was on the scene immediately. I'm still not sure exactly what happened but Butner is out and walking around. We don't have the luxury of a trackside big screen so it's hard to tell what the crowd in the shutdown area is looking at. We're down for a cleanup. I'm sure the car didn't hit anything so it looks like we need a oil cleanup. Left Lane: Dave Raybourn Runs 8.902/149.65/-0.388, Now #34; E/SMA Index: 9.29, Prior Best: 16.084/65.36/6.794, Was #42 Raybourn hit the wheelie bars hard and the car drove to the centerline. He managed to ease it back into the groove, but evidently lost a bunch of ET. After a good session, Bryan Fitzgerald is on the bump spot at -0.496. 1:14 p.m.
