The Goodguys 8th Fuel & Gas Finals is an action packed weekend of 250 mph vintage drag racing
excitement! The event is the season ending finals for the four-race 2006 Goodguys Championship
Vintage Drag Racing Series. Over 400 race cars through 1972 vintage will compete all weekend long.
250mph front engined top fuel dragsters and funny cars, 200mph blown gassers and A/Fuel dragsters,
plus wild fuel altereds, hot rod roadsters, gear grinding street machines and hundreds of other
vintage favorites!
Professional Funny Car racers Ron Capps and Del Worsham will both compete in the Nostalgia Funny
Car class at the Goodguys Finals. Capps will be behind the wheel of the "Hard Times" 1970 Dodge
Challenger, while Worsham will pilot a recreation of the famed "Blue Max" 1977 Ford.
A special rod & custom show & shine featuring hundreds of 1972 and earlier rods, customs, classics
and trucks will take place in the shady "Famoso Grove" area. Manufacturer's exhibits will form
several midways as well as an automotive swap meet for used auto parts. All of this and more is
included in the price of admission!
