ATCO, N.J. - First it was rain, now it is wind. After heavy rains that stared yesterday afternoon and into this morning, track officials most of the track dry to prepare for racing here today. The only problems were a small patch of water in the left lane shutdown area and heavy, gusting cross winds that made it dangerous to race down the quarter mile. As a result, race officials made the decision to cancel qualifying and eliminations today for both the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event and the Dutch Classic. Racers have been offered the opportunity to take one-eighth mile timed runs as practice only and those runs will not count toward qualifying. Field for the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event have been set and eliminations will begin tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. The Dutch Classic is on hold for now and a decision will be made about completing that event later on.
