ATCO, N.J. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, Northeast Division, LODRS 1-6 event at Atco Raceway listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: Wayne Morris Runs 6.829/216.97, Now #1
Right Lane: Fran Monaghan Jr Runs 14.305/50.19, Now #2

Both cars shook the rear tires. Morris drove through it, Monaghan did not.

Left Lane: Ken Winward Runs 6.391/158.61, Now #2
Right Lane: Richard Bourke Runs 5.614/233.96, Now #1

Winward shook the tires but drove through it. As he crossed the finish line, his blower popped. Bourke got a little loose but drove through it.

Left Lane: Dan Mercier Runs 5.577/272.34, Now #2
Right Lane: Arthur Gallant Runs 5.336/272.89, Now #1

Both drivers had clean runs to move to the top two spots of the order.

Left Lane: John Finke Runs 5.576/275.62, Now #2
Right Lane: Bruce Horner Runs 14.336/49.53, Now #8

Finke shook the tires but pedaled it and got back into the run. Horner shook the rear tires and shut it down.
