BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Results of round 2 eliminations in Nostalgia Elim at the California Hot Rod Reunion, 15th California Hotrod Reunion, presented by the Automobile Club of Southern California:

There were forty-nine cars that attempted to qualify and we are now down to the last sixteen. Raymond gets the big advantage off the line and takes the upset win over the better qualified Leffler.

Both cars leave together and Rappaport is too quick by .002 seconds. Sturgeon take the close win.

Looks like Bayuk isn't able to get the engine started and Davis will get a free pass into tomorrow's round three. He makes a clean pass and runs close to his qualifying times.

Two blown altereds come to the line. Valencia has the late model "layed down" look and Ward the traditional "tall and short" look. Ward gets a big advantage off the line and steals the win. Dave Ward's MOV: 0.0187 seconds (approximately 4 feet).

Big bad blown altered in the left lane and a little injected Chevy this time. Gruzen deep stages and then goes red by -.003. Schrokosch runs under the index, but he had already won the race.

The world's longest blown "altered" gets a single, as Smith isn't able to start the engine.

Chrisleib ducked a bullet last round and he takes a decisive win this time. He gives up a little at the light, but has the power to drive on by and take the win.
