SONOMA, Calif. - Results of round 1 eliminations in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 19th annual FRAM-Autolite NHRA Nationals:

1:12 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 79 degrees, relative humidity 50 percent, barometer 30.13 inches, adjusted altitude 1,364 feet, track temperature 115 degrees.

Schnitz is 3-2 against Treble, who won here in 2002. Not this time. Schnitz has a perfect light but Treble runs him down with air to spare. Craig Treble's MOV: 0.0523 seconds (approximately 14 feet).

Sampey is 16-3 against Gann and she won this event in 2004. Gann left first but Sampey made that up by 60 feet. Gann sits up before 1000 feet and Sampey gets the win.

This is Hines 18th #1 qualifying effort and he's the defending event champ. Hines was late but with that kind of performance, not a big deal.

Brown is another of those 6 second riders and he's 3-1 against Guidera. He was runner up to Sampey here in 2004. Guidera goes red and Brown gets the automatic win.

Scali won here in 2003 but Johnson holds a 9-8 against him. Great light for Johnson and it helps him into the second round.

Ellis is 4-0 against Stoffer who was the runner up here last season. Boy did these guys save the best for last. Ellis makes the quickest run in cycle history and the win as Stoffer goes red. What a pass that was! Next round Hines has choice over Treble; Ellis chooses over Smith; Bradford over Sampey and Brown over Johnson.
