KENT, Wash. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Top Fuel at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 19th annual Schuck's Auto Supply NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: Mike Strasburg Runs 9.287/96.62, Now #2
Right Lane: Alan Bradshaw Runs 8.265/90.92, Now #1

Strasburg lost traction right off the starting line and Bradshaw made it a little further down track before he started to loose traction.

Left Lane: J.R. Todd Runs 4.854/282.07, Now #1
Right Lane: Bob Vandergriff Runs 9.027/93.24, Now #3

Vandergriff lost traction right off the starting line. Todd was able to keep it hooked up all the way down the quarter mile. J.R. Todd's incremental times: 60ft-0.858 sec., 330ft-2.235, 660ft-3.236/248.07mph, 1,000ft-4.098

Left Lane: Doug Herbert Runs 8.049/146.15, Now #3
Right Lane: David Baca Runs 5.252/237.88, Now #2

Herbert with Brissette tuning for him again, and he is up in smoke right off the starting line. Baca is off and on the throttle a couple times trying to improve his position for tonight's qualifying.

Left Lane: Hillary Will Runs 10.474/78.43, Now #8
Right Lane: Cory McClenathan Runs 5.775/160.50, Now #3

Will is up in smoke as soon as she hit the throttle. Cory Mac pedals it and gets down the track in the third place for now.

Left Lane: Morgan Lucas Runs 9.721/88.55, Now #9
Right Lane: Rod Fuller Runs 4.789/273.00, Now #1

Fuller with a great looking pass here in the heat of the day for the number one spot. Rod Fuller's incremental times: 60ft-0.868 sec., 330ft-2.211, 660ft-3.182/258.07mph, 1,000ft-4.022 apparently Fuller lost a bullet on that pass as the Safety Safari rolls. Fuller had a freebie in the oil down penalties. Lucas is up in smoke early and clicks it off.

Right Lane: Larry Dixon Runs 4.720/318.02, Now #1

This was a good looking drag race, both cars straight down the track. David Grubnic's incremental times: 60ft-0.875 sec., 330ft-2.239, 660ft-3.234/251.06mph, 1,000ft-4.086
Larry Dixon's incremental times: 60ft-0.859 sec., 330ft-2.206, 660ft-3.195/255.00mph, 1,000ft-4.018

Right Lane: Brandon Bernstein Runs 4.780/307.51, Now #3

Schumacher with a great looking pass for the number one spot. Tony Schumacher's incremental times: 60ft-0.860 sec., 330ft-2.184, 660ft-3.154/258.57mph, 1,000ft-3.978 Bernstein with a good clean pass to go into the number three spot. Brandon Bernstein's incremental times: 60ft-0.881 sec., 330ft-2.249, 660ft-3.234/256.16mph, 1,000ft-4.061

Left Lane: Melanie Troxel Runs 4.755/319.67, Now #3
Right Lane: Doug Kalitta Runs 9.237/96.76, Now #13

Kalitta double step it right on the starting line and then was up in smoke. Troxel with a real nice pass right out of the box to move into the number three spot. Melanie Troxel's incremental times: 60ft-0.884 sec., 330ft-2.257, 660ft-3.238/256.99mph, 1,000ft-4.056
