Nitro Bikes Round 1 Eliminations

EDMONTON, Alb. - Results of round 1 eliminations in Nitro Bikes at the 2006 eMax Drag Racing Series, CARS RV & Marine & Motorsports Rocky Mountain Nationals presented by TORCO Racing Fuels:

1:14 p.m. After a brief delay to clean up a topend oildown from the Pro Modified session, it was time for the distinctive sound of the Nitro Bikes.

Both had problems with traction and failing engines. Boyer got further before losing power and coasted across to get the win light.

Welch's bike went to the right and he had to lean way off the left side to stay off the wall. Scott made a very nice run to move to the semifinals.

Beauchemin was way ahead early, but his engine let him down on the top end and Smith went by for the win. Smith faces Scott in the semifinals, Scott has lane choice.

York had the early lead, but had engine problems that let Kent by for the upset win. Kent will have lane choice against Boyer in the semifinals.
