Dixon came in with an 18-14 edge against Kalitta, 6-2 in final rounds, and lane choice. On the other side, with cooler track and air conditions, Kalitta's team has been blazingly quick this year. All that said, this turned into a pedaling contest after about 100 feet and Kalitta put his sprint car driving experience to good use to get a sideways race car to the finish line. Both drivers pedaled a couple times, but Dixon got extremely sideways on his second pedal job and had to lift, while Kalitta kept the front end pointed in the general direction of the finish line. Doug Kalitta's incremental margins (negative if behind): 60ft(-0.032), 330 ft(-0.031), 660ft(0.056), 1,000ft(0.268). MOV: 0.7094 seconds (more than 100 feet).
