GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Results of round 3 eliminations in Funny Car at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 36th annual MAC Tools NHRA Gatornationals:

Weather conditions: air temperature 76 degrees, relative humidity 47 percent, barometer 29.69 inches, adjusted altitude 1,663 feet, track temperature 117 degrees.

Force is out of the gate first but is dropping a bunch of cylinders early and then he must of lost a blower belt around half track. Gilbertson is still trailing at half track, but drives around him around 800 feet and then the engine lets go with a big fireball. He has a big fire until he can get it stopped and the Safety Safari get to him. Gilbertson is going to his fourth final round.

Scelzi is out of the gate first , but Bazemore has the difference made up by 200 feet and then gets out of the groove on the top end and real close to the wall. Scelzi starts to smoke the tires around half track.
