Pro Stock Motorcycle Qualifying Notes, Final Session

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 36th annual MAC Tools NHRA Gatornationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Right Lane: Angie McBride Runs 19.949/32.19, Now #31; Best prior run: 7.578/170.00, Was #31

3:06 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 72 degrees, relative humidity 45 percent, barometer 29.92 inches, adjusted altitude 1,074 feet, track temperature 99 degrees.

Mike Berry is on the quickest bump spot ever at 7.171. McBride launched and had problems right off the starting line.


Left Lane: Thomas Byrd Runs 12.323/64.99, Now #32; Best prior run: 8.257/157.28, Was #32
Right Lane: Johnny Bond No Time, Now #29; Best prior run: 7.509/174.48, Was #29

bond broke on the burnout. Byrd with problems right off the starting line.

Left Lane: Hector Arana Runs 11.991/66.26, Now #30; Best prior run: 7.549/179.03, Was #30
Right Lane: Tommy Grimes Runs 7.183/191.36, Now #19; Best prior run: 7.328/179.39, Was #25

Arana had shifter problems. Grimes with his best pass of the weekend, but just misses on making the quickest field ever.

Left Lane: Redell Harris Runs 7.147/184.95, Now #13; Best prior run: 7.357/160.02, Was #27
Right Lane: Joe DeSantis Runs 7.357/155.81, Now #26; Best prior run: 7.235/180.54, Was #25

Harris gets into the show and that bumps out Berry and puts Gann on the bubble with a 7.170 seconds.

Right Lane: Michael Phillips Runs 7.163/187.81, Now #16; Best prior run: 7.233/180.79, Was #25

Phillips gets into the show and that bumps out Gann.

Left Lane: Lloyd Straus Runs 7.297/182.48, Now #25; Best prior run: 7.230/186.45, Was #25
Right Lane: Freddie Camarena Runs 7.252/184.72, Now #23; Best prior run: 7.202/184.35, Was #23



Left Lane: Connie Cohen Runs 7.183/183.52, Now #22; Best prior run: 7.225/183.71, Was #24
Right Lane: Wesley Wells Runs 7.263/181.52, Now #23; Best prior run: 7.185/184.69, Was #22

Cohen with a career best pass but comes up a little short of making the field.

Left Lane: Rickey Gadson No Time, Now #20; Best prior run: 7.174/185.91, Was #19
Right Lane: Paul Gast Runs 7.154/187.30, Now #15; Best prior run: 7.178/184.72, Was #20

Gadson broke right off the starting line. Gast with his career quickest pass ever to get into the show and that bumped out Phillips.

Left Lane: Shawn Gann Runs 7.139/189.03, Now #12; Best prior run: 7.170/188.60, Was #18
Right Lane: Mike Berry Runs 7.182/186.33, Now #19; Best prior run: 7.171/186.56, Was #19

Gann who just got bumped out and he gets back into the show here and that bumps out Valetti. Beery can't get back in.

Left Lane: Matt Smith Runs 7.082/187.26, Now #10; Best prior run: 7.146/184.01, Was #13
Right Lane: Scott Valetti Runs 7.136/190.27, Now #13; Best prior run: 7.162/183.29, Was #17

These two get back into the show and bumps out Gast and Phillips. Valetti with the quickest and fastest passes ever on a Kawasaki.

Left Lane: Chris Bostick Runs 7.161/187.85, Now #12; Best prior run: 7.111/186.45, Was #12
Right Lane: Blaine Hale Runs 7.167/187.22, Now #16; Best prior run: 7.149/187.11, Was #16

No help for either of these two.

Left Lane: Karen Stoffer Runs 7.099/188.79, Now #11; Best prior run: 7.093/187.14, Was #11
Right Lane: Ryan Schnitz Runs 7.038/190.63, Now #6; Best prior run: 7.057/188.87, Was #8

Schnitz with a great looking pass. Stoffer with another good looking pass.

Left Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 7.098/190.31, Now #9; Best prior run: 7.077/188.20, Was #9
Right Lane: Craig Treble Runs 7.077/190.43, Now #7; Best prior run: 7.055/190.11, Was #7



Left Lane: Chip Ellis Runs 7.086/187.77, Now #8; Best prior run: 7.056/185.52, Was #8
Right Lane: Antron Brown Runs 7.065/190.47, Now #4; Best prior run: 7.024/189.95, Was #4



Left Lane: Angelle Sampey Runs 7.029/190.47, Now #5; Best prior run: 7.029/187.89, Was #5
Right Lane: Geno Scali Runs 7.058/190.67, Now #3; Best prior run: 7.016/189.63, Was #3

Sampey with the quickest pass of the session. No help for Scali.

Left Lane: GT Tonglet Runs 7.079/191.57, Now #2; Best prior run: 7.007/197.45, Was #2
Right Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 7.039/192.88, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.991/196.16, Was #1

The Harleys wrap up qualifying here and they do not improve, but stay number one and two. Hale holds on to the number 16 spot in the quickest Pro Stock Motorcycle field.
