YPSILANTI, Mich. -- West Coast Customs, the self-proclaimed "Kingz of Customs", will have some of their handy-work and radical imagery ride on the body panels of the Mac Tools Top Fuel dragster driven by Doug Kalitta by way of a special, one-off paint scheme at the upcoming Mac Tools NHRA Gatornationals at Gainesville Raceway, March 17-20.
The West Coast Customs team, based in Los Angeles, Calif., are pioneers of many new techniques and technologies. Much of their work is done for the first time, built to an application, need or desire. They can create just about anything for a custom vehicle for anyone. "The car looks very cool," Doug Kalitta said. "I've never seen a custom scheme quite like this one before. I think NHRA fans and fans of their show will really like this. You can even see some of the cars they have customized in the design. It looks great." Doug, two-time Top Fuel championship points runner-up (2003-2004), will forgo his normal bright red and flame-adorned Mac Tools colors on his Ypsilanti, Mich., based Kalitta Motorsports Top Fueler for this special, one-time-only design in Gainesville. The Mac Tools NHRA Gatornationals is the third of 23 national events in the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series.
