GLENDORA, Calif. -- UrbanRacer.com, a leading Internet media and marketing solutions company focused on sport compact tuning and performance, has renewed its title sponsorship of the Sport FWD class in the NHRA Summit Sport Compact Drag Racing Series, it was announced today by NHRA officials. The sponsorship package includes a contingency payout for Sport FWD contestants and opportunities for maximum exposure in the Sport FWD Garage section on the UrbanRacer.com Web site. Accessible by hundreds of thousands of UrbanRacer.com readers, the section will highlight the class action from each of the NHRA Sport Compact events for 2005. The section also will include profiles on some of the quickest, most visible contestants in the class as well as a spotlight on the winner of the class. For each race of the 2005 season, the UrbanRacer.com Sport FWD contingency payout will offer $500 per race in addition to the regular NHRA payout, and extend winnings potential to the Sport FWD winner ($250), runner-up ($150) and semifinalists ($50 x 2). "NHRA is pleased to have UrbanRacer.com return as title sponsor of the popular Sport FWD class," said Gary Raasch, director of marketing for the NHRA Summit Sport Compact Series. "UrbanRacer.com's participation in this extremely important contingency program is a vital component of NHRA's commitment to the sportsman racers, and specifically the Sport FWD class." In order to qualify for the contingency posting, NHRA Sport FWD racers must display the UrbanRacer.com decal on their race cars during each event. "The success of the NHRA Sport FWD class last year proved that the excitement of sport compact drag racing is alive and kicking," said Jackie Ling, editorial director of UrbanRacer.com. "Continuing our sponsorship of the class was a no-brainer; we want to do our part to cultivate the next generation of pro sport compact drag racers, and this is the perfect avenue. A lot of SFWD racers thanked us in person and by e-mail for getting involved, so we know first hand how great it is to make a difference for these dedicated enthusiasts."
