JUPITER, Fla. -- Moroso closed out the year with the RJ Gators & BUZZ 103.1fm Sport Compact Winter Showdown on
December 11th. The last event in the Sport Compact series is presented by BFGoodrich Tires, Steeda
Autosports and the South Florida Dodge Dealers. It was a terrific event with over 100 true South
Florida quality Show-n-Shine participants. The sport compact series has always been very popular
here at Moroso and we are looking forward to carrying it on for Moroso's 25th anniversary in 2006.
The NHRA Sony X-Plod series will also return in 2006 with two of their national event being held
here locally, at Moroso Motorsports Park.
Racing featured some quick runs on the track under cool weather. Low ET & Top Speed of the event
went to Pro Outlaw racer Luis Ferrer, Jr of West Palm Beach. Running 8.215 @ 166.02, Ferrer also
secured the $500 cash award for the 'Fastest Car'. Another fast pass which brought them to the
Winner's Circle was John Feguson, of Orlando, who defeated Jose Rodriguz, of Miramar, with his
pass of 10.361 @ 151.43mph. Detailed race results are below.
The last Test & Tune for Moroso will be held Friday, December 16th and we will reopen after the
holidays on Wednesday, January 4th for the Dodge Dealer Street Drags. Keep posted on these events
