MELVILLE, N.Y. -- Pro Modified World Champion Mike Ashley along with Tim Tindle, president and owner of Tindle Enterprises -- a site contracting company, announce the formation "TARE" - Tindle Ashley Racing Enterprises. TARE's goal is to build on an already successful platform to field a championship Pro Modified Team, continuing the momentum Ashley has generated with his Gotham City Racing organization.

Joey Martin of Milton Florida will be the lead driver for the team and take the seat of the reigning AMS Pro Mod Champion's Torco Race Fuels 1967 Shelby Mustang. Ashley will continue to drive his nitro Funny car, the flagship of the Skull Gear/Torco brands, focusing his attention to competing in the NHRA POWERade Funny Car class.

Crushing any rumors about his leaving the Pro Mod ranks, Ashley said TARE will not take him completely out of driving in Pro Modified competition, and cited the upcoming delivery of a "swoopy new '67 Camaro with a cynergy body" that will feature portions of the elaborate paint schemes his rides have worn throughout the past several years. Committed to competing at all 23 NHRA Funny Car events, Ashley plans to announce a limited schedule for Pro Mod competition in the near future.

"Tim Tindle is a great guy and I'm happy to have him join our team," Mike Ashley said. "I think it says a lot about the caliber of the men on our team - they are world-class - just like Tim and his companies."

Tindle brings years of success as a site contractor, as well as a passion for drag racing and a long history of successes in the sport.

Martin plans to compete in the hopefully soon-to-be-announced NHRA Pro Modified series, as well as stating the possibility of running other series' events.

Tindle said, "Mike and the entire Gotham City team have welcomed me with open arms, and I know that our partnership will only add to the premier Pro Mod competition featured at NHRA events. Joey is a very talented driver, and a great guy, too."

Both Tindle and Ashley were quick to assure the return of crew chief Chuck Ford and the rest of the Gotham City teammates. According to Ashley, other than a change in drivers, things in the Gotham City Pro Modified pit will remain the same. In Funny Car, Ashley plans to pick up where he left off, looking to make quite an impact on the NHRA Funny Car class in 2006.

"Here's the thing," Ashley continued. "I expect to win - every time I pull up to the starting line. I can definitely race in two classes, and I have to say that my reaction times were never better than when I drove both cars last year. I just want to give the team as much of an opportunity to stay on top as possible, and this is a great way to grow and keep the momentum rolling. Gotham City Racing is bigger than just me, and I know that. Tim and Joey bring another winning dimension to what we do."

Joey Martin said, "I'm happy to have a chance to go for a championship with Tim and Mike Ashley. I have no doubt its going to be a great year."

Ashley said, "The Pro Mod team is definitely in capable hands, and I know Mark [Oswald, Funny Car crew chief] and the rest of the guys in the fuel pit are ready to go and make it an exciting year. This is just the beginning of a lot of new and exciting things to come out of Gotham City. We all feel that it will be the best year we've had so far."
