POMONA, Calif. - Results of round 1 eliminations in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 41st annual Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals:

This is Treble's 105th start and he won here in '03. He gets a big hole-shot on Wells and never gives up the lead.

Tonglet is 2-2 in career match-ups with Berry. Berry gets the hole-shot and takes the rubber match.

This is Smith's first start from the number one qualifying position, the 24th driver in this class. Phillips has started from the 16th spot six times and has never won from that position.

Big upset here, Phillips gets a huge hole-shot and hangs on to take out the number one qualifier. Phillips will have lane choice over Treble in round two.

Schnitz has won twice this year, Columbus and Denver. Bradford went to the semi-finals in Las Vegas.

These two leave the line together, then Schnitz pulls away and takes the win.

Hines has 50 career starts, 44 of those have been from the top half of the field. If Hines wins here, he will take the championship.....and he does it. Rivas leaves a little too quickly and gives the win to Hines. Hines will have lane choice over Berry in round two.

Sampey is facing her 60th different rider in her career. She just watched Hines wrap up the championship. She gets a big hole-shot here and pulls away to move on to the next round.

Scali was the runner-up at this race in '02. He leaves a little quicker but it's not enough. Ellis reels him in before they hit the 60 foot mark and pulls away for the win. Ellis will have lane choice over Sampey in round two.

Brown won here in '99 and was the runner-up here last year. This is Johnson's 199th start.

Johnson gets a great start, but Brown isn't far behind. Johnson hangs on to the lead until the 60 foot mark, then Brown motors by and pulls away. Brown will have lane choice over Schnitz in round two.
