LAS VEGAS -- Okuma America, a world-class leader in machine tool technology and manufacturing, has been named the Official Machine Tool of the NHRA it was announced today by NHRA officials during a press conference at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The official marketing partnership is the first for Okuma in NHRA Championship Drag Racing. The commitment increases Okuma's presence in NHRA. The company also is the primary sponsor for Bill Miller's Top Fuel team. In addition, Okuma is an active sponsor for a NASCAR race team.

"We believe the lessons learned from the application of advanced machining technology to the production of high endurance, high reliability racing engines give Okuma machine tools a competitive edge in the market," said Larry Schwartz, Okuma president. "That's why we're very excited about our partnership with the NHRA."

As part of the exclusive, multi-year agreement, NHRA is providing Okuma with multiple exposure opportunities through a variety of NHRA marketing platforms, including NHRA-produced publications and track signage at each NHRA POWERade Series event. In addition, Okuma will have the opportunity to use the NHRA mark in its advertising and promotional campaigns.
